Hover 2 Passport

But anyway I placed this order on Sept. 10, 2019, for a total of $747.23 and they said that the estimated shipping date was September of 2019. Well, that came and went, then it was changed to Feb of 2020, then March 2020. Then it was delayed due to COVID-19 wreaking havoc on the whole world.

Then on Aug. 19, 2020, I got an email saying they are about ready to ship and need to confirm my address. I did confirm it within like 5 min of getting that email. I have been waiting for an email to tell me when I can expect that.

Package

But, on Sept. 5, 2020, which was a Saturday, Fed-Ex showed up at the door with a package and she had to sign for it. My wife opened it up. I got out of the shower and I heard her doing something in the kitchen. I walked over to the stairs to see what was going on. The look she gave me was like death will become me. She asked me how much did this cost me. So I walked downstairs and saw what she opened up. I saw my Hover 2 and I told her it cost about $700 and she wasn’t happy. I told her I ordered it last year and she wasn’t happy and didn’t believe me.

I won’t go and order something like that without talking to her. She did give me the green light, so ordered it.

I have been waiting and waiting for this to come.

Now what

It came at the perfect time, I was just about to go on the Cedar City trip, over on the traveingwithjustin.com blog, you read more about that trip and others over there.

I can’t wait to get this flying.

The time finally came for the Hover 2 to get here and I couldn’t be more excited. I have so many hopes, dreams, and plans for this thing.

Test Flight

I took it for a test flight at a baseball field in Cedar City. Well, it tried to get away from me a couple of times but I was able to press stop and then have it return to me. I put a new battery in it. I ordered a second one, fired it up and it started off fine then all of sudden it started to go away. It stopped but I couldn’t control it, the stop feature won’t work. So I had to wait until the battery died and it landed safely. But what if it was over a roof? I couldn’t control it or anything. It wasn’t even taking video.

What the heck?

 What

So this wasn’t very promising for a $750.00 dollar drone, After I got home, I started to play with it more. Flying it around my house and neighborhood. Don’t worry I stayed on public property. I found that if I used the following:

It was better to control than with the phone. It hasn’t freaked out and not responded as it did with my phone. So that is good

My thoughts

I really like this drone, It does what I want it to do.

  • Takes good video
  • Takes photos
  • You can have it follow you around
    • Need to master this one
  • Control it via your phone
  • Control it via the palm pilot (pictured above)

I just need to become a better drone pilot. I really like this drone.
