It was the year 2000 and something and it seems that the use of cash is going bye bye. When Apple Pay first came out I was excited since I had an iPhone and I could use it. However, I was wrong in that area. I couldn’t use it. It was only for the new iPhone 6’s and I had a 4S and they aren’t compatible at all.
Using it
When I could afford it I went out and picked up a new 6S and activated the Apple Pay on my phone. Yes, my bank and credit unions both support this payment method. However, only a few places accepted the payment method. I think my first Apple payment was at McDonald’s. I just wanted to see what it could do. Now that more and more places are accepting this option it is getting nicer and easier to use.
So what is Apple Pay, you use it on your phone. It communicates with the payment method which is embeded on a secure element to securely store payment data, and passes that on to the point of sale system.

- Check into the airport in TSA and at the gate
- Maverick gas station on the pumps
- Jimmy John’s
- chick-fil-A

Embarrassed
My wife gets mad and embarrassed when I use this, she says just take out your wallet and pay for it. Why should I? When this is more secure. So why should you be embarrassed about being safe? My kids made fun of me but then they realized that they can use this when they don’t have thier wallet. Which is quite often.

My opinion
I think this is one of the best things that could have happen in the technology world. The ability to pay for something with your phone or your watch and do it securely. I mean that is a great thing to do and you won’t have to worry about your card getting cloned. I love it.
